Title: Smoker cover ..................
Post by: OFFSHORE GINGER on December 10, 2018, 07:05:07 PM
Well to make a long story short i purchased a new cover for my number two last Spring , and the corner's are already tearing / ripping out  or should i say that the cover needs more fabric in and around the four corners or the the corners need to be  more rounded or both ( fabric ) to avoid this problem .

Take a look at Covers&All. They custom make with great material and an affordable price. I paid $50 or so for some good material.

I’m using one they didn’t make correctly for my grill as the smoker cover. Still have the SI cover underneath. But these Covers&All covers are great!

YES THE COVERS ARE NICE BUT THIS IS MY SECOND ONE OVER THE YEARS , AND NOT TO MENTION ONCE AGAIN THE WEAR AND TEAR IS ON THE TOP OF THE SMOKER AROUND ALL FOUR CORNERS WHICH IN MY OPINION IS PRETTY NEW / LAST SPRING .

Mine is going on a year and still doing well. Time will tell. I do have to say that my smoker is under a covered patio all year long so that probably helps.

My beautiful smoker cover lasted one snowbird season (5 months) in the sun.  Wish it had come with a warning not to leave in sun.  My Blackstone grill cover still looks new after 4 seasons in the same sun location.

Funny you posted this considering I just went thru another ( second ) cover and purchased a cheaper grill cover that fits like a glove along with having more length opposed to the original cover which overall is actually a better cover that I think will last three times longer.

I have had a lot of patio furniture covers over the years.  The one thing I am certain of is that vinyl or PVC composite covers do deteriorate in direct sunlight. Pieces covered and in shade throughout the day lasted much longer than those that sat in the sun.  Needless to say, my smoker is in the shade. My cover is showing some where from me being a tad careless pulling it down over the corners of the smoker.

Lets face it the covers cost way too much and do not hold up to the elements / weather basically junk .

Coversandall.com

I have five different covers from them. Some get full sun, one gets partial the others are under the patio. All doing well after 4-5 years.

My dad also has a few from them, and best part, they can make custom if needed. He has a #2 on a car and had a cover made to completely cover.

They make some great stuff!

No thank you and never again because the covers are WAY overpriced.

$75 for a cover is overpriced? That uses top of the line Sunbrella like material? Or the cover that comes with the smoker?

You don’t specifically say if you have a CoversandAll cover or not. But even the covers that get full sun are in good shape with no sign of cracking.

If you do have this SPECIFIC brand, sorry your experience is not the same.

Nothing and no one lasts forever.  Sometimes life is cut short. Be it material or flesh. That is just the way it is.
