Not getting any smoke?
« on: July 21, 2017, 07:52:11 PM »
What is the first thing I should check? I I am smoking salmon tonight and pork belly tomorrow. I tried 2 pieces of alter, then chips. I am smoking at 180 now and still no smoke. Chunks are hot but not smoking. Please help.

Make sure you poked a hole in the aluminum foil. Use chips, slivers or shavings when smoking that low. The chunks should be fine for your pork shoulder @ 225.

Follow that recommendation in addition crank the heat and leave the smoker door open until smoke forms then close the door and set the heat at 180.
