looking for tips , Chicken and hot dogs
« on: March 03, 2017, 03:13:06 PM »
tomorrow we plan to put in a shelf or two of brined chicken quarters

on a shelf above those i want to make some bacon wrapped hot dogs.

i figure the dogs won't take very long.. but i really like to open the door as little as possible

so how long do you thing i should put the hot dogs in for? taking in to consideration i will set it to 250 for the chicken ..so really just how ever long the bacon takes to cook should be the time for the dogs

any clue how long that might be?

I made bacon wrapped onion rings a month ago. Smoke temp was 225, I was also smoking turkey legs and a turkey breast as well. But I think I had the bacon onion rings in for 2 hours and they could have went longer to get a little more chew. Being at 250, perhaps 2 hours is perfect.

the dogs should come out in time for lunch and the chicken for dinner

Stout, we did these and some poppers not too long ago.  It was about two hours as well.  Mostly for the bacon to get done.
