Hello from the piney woods of East Texas
« on: May 22, 2015, 02:46:57 PM »
#2 on the way.  Got a couple of chickens and a packer brisket last night.  Can't wait for my smoker to arrive and try it out!  My cheap Masterbuilt analog smoker finally stopped working, so I decided to upgrade.  I never could get any good smoke flavor out of the Masterbuilt, so I am looking forward to the SI #2.

Welcome from a fellow East Texan! Doing my inaugural smoke on my #3 right now.
Two boston butts. You will definitely be impressed with the quality of the smoker itself as compared to the big box store offerings. Relax everyone here is helpful so dont hesitate to ask questions. Happy smokin!

Welcome Doug, I grew up in North East Texas--Sulphur Springs.  I have found tons of great smoking ideas, and the best advice on this site.

Welcome from NW Arkansas, neighbor!  You're definitely taking a step up in smokers.  Not knocking the Masterbuilt, but you'll see a big difference in the build quality and design with your #2!  Let us know how we can help.

Smoked a beer can chicken the first day, and as soon as I took that off put a brisket in to smoke overnight.  Wow!!!  Best brisket I have ever made by far.  I never could get that type of smoke flavor from my Masterbuilt.  I can't wait to get some ribs and try those out.
