Removing the front door?
« on: February 21, 2015, 05:01:09 PM »
Has anyone removed the door?  It looks like a slip hinge but doesn't easily lift off.  I was wondering if it required a little rubber mallet assistance to get it off.

The door lifts right off on my # 2. I'd suggest spraying some wd40 on the hinge pins, open and close the door several times, then lift up while moving the door back and forth slightly. If this doesn't work then resort to using the mallet.

Thanks Paul, I might also try laying the smoker down so that I'm not trying to overcome gravity.  The #4 door is pretty heavy.

Yep, easy off on my #2 when I did PID probe install. #4 might be a tad heavier...  :'(
