All-
it's raining here in NJ today. If I use an extension cord will that hurt the performance of the Auber?

If and when I get an Auber, I'd want to do something like this to make it more waterproof.
Too bad they don't make one that's approved for outdoor use.
You would definitely need to use a heavy duty extension cord, and make sure it's not too long.

Remember, Ed, that an extension cord to the Auber is also powering your smoker, so use the appropriate size. I have used a 100' 12/3 cord with no problems. I wouldn't go over 50' with a 14/3 cord, and wouldn't go smaller than 14/3.
