Yeah I saw that, that is why I figured I would be ok with the butt brine.

Yeah kinda disappointed about that deal, I thought that the clear tape was just a protective shipping tape, oh how I was wrong but I couldn't help it, needed to get to that rust which is still there.

The loin looks great, Ben!  Looks like the Tappecue is doing its job very well!  I noticed you switched Mavericks to the 733 in the latest vids!

This smoke I decided to break out the mav 733 just to make sure that the tapp is working right, and to see how well the mav733 would do with distance from sending unit, very nice unit as well.

These will be my final thoughts on this review:

1. Great techy gadget. Love seeing things on my phone and the reporting it does when things fluctuate out of bounds.

2. Once some firmware updates are done this should become a fantastic product. Plus the new version of the app coming out is going to make plotting the temps much easier.

3. I would love to see them throw in a temp probe output to hook into a PID such as the Auber. Then I would be in tech bliss for my smoker.

4. Overall the thermometers are a tad lower than those of the Mavericks and if they could come up with a way to calibrate the units, this would be perfect.

So final conclusion on first use: If you have the room to spurge on a neat little WiFi thermometer, then you can 't go wrong with this one. Just remember to take into account that the probes are slightly off. Great unit built here in USA and support so far was super fast (just like Smokin-It).

Thanks guys!

Here is a screen shot of the excel graph that you can get after the smoke.

The Red and Green are actually the Loins and the Purple is the shoulder. The Blue is the temp in the smoker and you can definitely see the fluctuations during the cook. Very cool and can't wait to see it on the app.

I had to cut the smoke short on the butt since it was very late and I had to be to work early. I guess if I had the Auber I could have let it sit at a warming stage. But it turned out lovely anyway.

Looks great. The rise and fall of the temp look right on the mark and pretty consistent. And the final product looks perfect.
