Has anyone attempted smoked gator? Any input would be appreciated.

I emailed a friend of mine who is a Cajun cook with a place in Illinois. Asked him for some advice on the matter. Any reply I receive I will be sure to post. I found a decent source for seafood and they said they can source gator from Florida.
Will keep the forum posted.
