Title: Rest for the Auber
Post by: airgunhunter on February 03, 2016, 01:18:49 AM
My friend helped me do the switch and the bypass for the Auber. Everything works, but there was some tension on the probe cord from the bottom of the cabinet to the Auber. And with the bypass, the cabinet got warm to the touch as I headed towards 300 degrees. I am not as electrically inclined as many guys here so I was hesitant to shorten or lengthen wires. I made a rest for the Auber on the side of the cabinet. It also keeps the unit off the warm/hot cabinet and I can see the temperature from the window in the kitchen now. I didn't make any plans. I just held boards up to the cabinet before I cut them. Opposite the Auber, I'm going to put some hooks to hang tongs, hot pads or other tools.

I hope you gentlemen are having a blessed week.

Tommy, I love it!  That would be way better than the lawn chair and a piece of plywood that I use now.  I'm copying that for sure.

Nice! Now my Auber is feeling left out because it has to sit directly on the deck albeit a nice composite one!  :) I may have to give this a shot.

Thank you. I am having SO much fun smoking things. I tried some turkeys this week and it was a big hit with my wife. She asked me to smoke some for a couple of her friends.

It IS addicting. I'm always thinking about the next smoke! I keep looking at my schedule, what the meat prices are and the weather channel!

So much fun and my friends enjoy getting the results of the latest projects.

What a fun craft!

+1!  You're definitely "bit" by the BBQ bug now!
