Title: 350w vs 400w
Post by: oskizzle on December 13, 2015, 04:18:20 PM
It looks like an older model of the #1 used a 350 watt heating element.  Now it is a 400.  I have a need to run a smoker on 350 watts...

Anyone know if the element is some kind of generic heating element that can be purchased at a big box store or somewhere online?

Are you putting it in the SI smoker or a different smoker?

I plan on using it in the SI #1 smoker.

Curious why.  You "have a need to run a 350w element?"  Please explain, and we might be able to help better.  If you really want to downgrade to the old 350 element, I bet Steve has one lying around...I'd recommend calling him.  This question really has me perplexed!

I have a solar setup using a 400 watt inverter.  Would prefer to use a 350w element to keep from maxing out the smoker.
