Title: Website Member List
Post by: WeekendWarrior on August 02, 2014, 01:01:25 PM
Not sure if it is customizable, but it would be nice to add the member location field to the member list, that way you can sort it by state, and see if there are any other members in your state.

Heck maybe even have a regional get together and share some Q

I previously suggested a SI convention, but I like you idea of location being included in the membership list. However there are not many of us northerners since shipping costs and duty will double the cost of the SI unit when bringing into Canada. I would me more than willing to drive as far as Ohio.

I like the idea, I would however have to crash the Louisiana gathering if it is crayfish season. My family loves the mudbugs.

The location idea is great, but I'm not sure if it's possible.  I'll check with Ben (the IT guy).  Brian - somehow I don't think there would EVER be a problem with any of us crashing another regions' get-together! :D

Funny Jim but not likely. I brought my southern bride north many years ago. She has never adjusted.

If we make ours in August to reciprocate (98 deg with 98 % humidity), no one will come to either event.

Being in TO, I'm comfortable with all seasons. Count me in...no rain, snow or heat will keep me away from some good Q.

Another option might be to have your IT guy plot the location on a map and update it periodically for the new members or ones who move.  They did that on the Old Woodworking Machines forum and it was a hit!

Proud cheesehead here!   8)

Ben, the IT guy, is actually working on this.  It's taking some custom coding, though, so I'm not sure how long it will be.  Keep those great suggestions coming!
