Hi Rich, Good find......always on the look out for new toys!
-
Everything I have purchased from them was top quality. Like auber, their stuff is built for industrial scientific and commercial applications. Very good products with some of the best probes on the Market. Usually expensive but it will last .
-
Rich, Thanks for posting the info. Just added one to my Christmas wish list :)
-
Certainly cannot argue about the price. Looks good.
-
Just wish they would make the Smoke with 4 probes! Now that would be something!

Got mine Friday and tested it on a pastrami I was doing overnight. Love the way it works, has a sturdy feel to it, display is easy to read and it never lost a signal. The transmitter has magnates on the back so it will just attach to the front or side of your smoker. The receiver is a little heavy in my mind for the cord to go around your neck, but I found a holster I had from an old GPS that worked fine to attach it to my belt. If I am doing a big cook where I am moving around a lot, that will be the way I go.
If anyone has questions, ask away.

Post some pics of it

I will post some pictures when I get back home. I am out to the homeland to pick up a Big Daddy on Saturday. And of course it is then a drive back home. I will get some pictures of the Smoke posted on Sunday.

Here are some pictures of the new ThermoWorks Smoke. It is super easy to use and the distance it stays connected is more than adequate for me. From the testing I have done, it is spot on accurate.
-
I ordered one this morning and it has already shipped! The probes look to be more sturdy than the ones I have with the ET-732 Maverick, and the box temp probe stopped working on Sunday. So, the timing is good to try the Thermoworks Smoke.
-
The probes are more sturdy than the Maverick. I have owned multiple Mavericks and feel the Smoke will outlast any and all of them.
-
Good to hear! I am scheduled for delivery on Friday, so this a definite smoking weekend.
-
Very nice looking unit. The probes look good. I wonder if this model will support wi-fi in the future?
-
According to their website: http://www.thermoworks.com/Smoke
"COMING 2017 - Smoke Gateway (Wi-Fi) & Smartphone App"
Being a gadget guy, I will be checking it out when available.
-
Do you think that the wifi and app would be compatible with this model or have to buy another newer model in 2017 that has wifi capability?

My understanding from reading this earlier was that the WIFI would be an add on piece that would work with the Smoke module. I think even after the WIFI add on is released it is just that and you would still need to buy the Smoke thermometer. I am sure that they will have a combo of some sort though.

Yea I just wouldn't want to jump in and then uh oh if you want wifi then you have to buy a whole new unit that has that capability, sorry you should have waited. My maverick is still going strong, its monitoring 2 pork butts as I type this, but I know it wont last forever and there are several new options coming online shortly. This seems like a solid choice though. Cant argue with the quality coming from thermoworks either.

The Fireboard already has Bluetooth, WiFi, cloud support with app & graphing, and will be available this week. Plus, 6 available meat probes. Just throwing it out as an option. ;) I know I'm sure satisfied with its performance!

great thank you.

while I'm waiting for the meater to hit the market, ive decided to order the smoke today. I'm tired of getting out of bed and looking at temps on the smoker lol. it will be nice to just be able to glance at the temp from bed! expecially since for some reason everthing I cook likes to finish in the middle of the night lol.

Ordered one for $89.00 and this is a great, easy to use unit. Very high quality, and simple to use. No need to look at a manual. The wireless receiver connects very easily. Does it have wifi? No, and I don't care. I really do not want a thermometer dependent on my phone. Much rather have a dedicated receiver. Highly recommend. And now I know about all the temperature swings of the Model 2!

Do any have regrets, comments on "The Smoke"? My Mav is dying/dead and needs to be replaced.
"Meater" has a great concept but not ready yet.
"Fireboard" WiFi ready is very new product/company $189 (nice review Tony)
"Smoke" ($99) (RF, WiFi optional mid-'17 $89) although new is from a proven source (Thermoworks). I already use a Thermapen and ChefAlarm which are both quality units so I'm more inclined to go this route.
Comments welcome.. ???

I have the Smoke and have used it several times. I love the sturdier probes over the Maverick. No regrets on the purchase, but I will note that the range for the remote is not as wide as the Maverick. Not an issue for me, though.
-
Thanks for the feedback Steve.. Range isn't an issue here either and Thermoworks has a stellar rep!

I have the Chef Alarm - not what you asked about, but I really like it for the price. I purchased an extra probe and use it as my third temp gauge when cooking multiple pieces of meat. This system of the Chef Alarm with two probes and the 3D probe has worked really well. The display is large enough to see from the inside the house looking out the window. If I need additional meat readings, I'll purchase another probe - but overall, for $65 I am very happy with it. (I was able to get a discount code from a friend). you can get a 10% off if referred just so you know.
