Just got my #4D
« on: October 24, 2016, 04:31:31 PM »
Went to the warehouse and picked it up on Saturday.  Got it seasoned on Sunday and now waiting on having enough time to give it a workout.  In addition to the regular stuff (brisket, butts, ribs...) I am looking forward to using this thing for bacon, jerky and sausages.  I have done them before, but always struggled with the temp control, but with the 4D, that problem should be nonexistent.

I will post pics when done.

Tony, it was very nice getting the opportunity to visit with him and get to ask a lot of questions, all of which he happily answered.  I totally understand where he and Smokin-It are coming from.  It was an enjoyable time, even if it wasn't that long of a time frame.

Awesome, Tman! Love the video!!!  I'm sure Steve will, too!

Now that you're a member of the family, how about adding your first name (and town) to your signature line?  We have another Tony here, who goes by TmanEater, so we need something to tell you two apart! ;)

Keep those videos coming!

Thanks! Yes Kari I thought the model 2 was plenty big enough until I wàs tasked to smoke a couple turkeys for Thanksgiving. 😁

This is another YT vid that I did on the model 1 and a turducken. At the time the model 1 turned me into a family hero. https://youtu.be/ttvs0wUyyz0

Bruce

I am thinking about buying a 4D.  Any comments since you have been using it for a while?  I would also like to hear from Tman .... or anyone else who has experience withe the unit.  SuperDave has given it good marks.

So far I love it. I like having plenty of room with the ability to cook for 2 or 100 people. The PID is great and my briskets have beem off the hook amazing. Just keep in mind that the more meat you put in it the longer it takes to get to temp.
