new shelving design
« on: May 15, 2020, 12:38:28 PM »
Hello Smokin-It Nation,

We hope everyone is safe and sound in these very crazy times.

I wanted to share with you our newly designed folding shelves that we hope to introduce shortly on the Norman and Stephanie enclosed smoker cabinets.  Over the years we have heard from customers wishing that the cabinets had some type of external shelves and we think this will fit the bill.

We are also thinking about offering the same type of folding shelve that could be installed on the side of a smoker.  The actual shelve and bracket will be made from stainless steel.   Please offer any ideas,  suggestions or thoughts you may have.

We will also be offering a new much larger version of the Bella cold smoke generator for large smoke houses in the next month.

Take Care everyone and be safe, we appreciate you all!

I like this! It’s the one thing I would like for my 3D. I know the top cap of the unit lays over the sides, but any thoughts on making these flush to the top so it’s a larger surface area to have and also takes away some of the weight on the sides/shelves?

But this is a great option!

A couple of washers on the lower leg of the bracing would probably make it even enough to get flush with top edge.

I agree as well with the suggestion about using some washers to be able to have the shelve match the top of the smoker,  should work.

Well, I’ll be waiting for availability then. I can see myself adding this to my 3D!

And just for the sales side of things, if I saw the photos as is, I don’t know if I would add the shelves, but if they were flush, just think that perhaps that would make people more apt to purchase. I consider myself handy at some things, but I don’t always think of ways to troubleshoot like Dave was able to provide with the washer suggestion.

But, can’t wait to see these out!

we will test placing the shelves flush with the top of the smoker to see how it works out.  the enclosed carts will differently be located at the top because it is only a single panel of stainless to drill.  With the smoker location you would need to drill thru two.  The actual shelves will be made in the USA from 304 18 ga. stainless, but the brackets are made in China   I will post pictures shortly

Have a great weekend!

I suppose going through both walls will require nuts and bolts and washers rather than just screws.

Maybe you can use existing screw holes on the smoker tops that are already there?
Going through 2 layers would be stronger than 1 layer.
