Title: Extension cord for PID
Post by: es1025 on August 30, 2018, 08:54:29 AM
Do you think I can use and extension cord tp power the auberins? I have to make a pork butt for a party on sunday noon time and need to cook overnight. There is a very good chance we will be having some rain. Any thoughts? And any specific gauge needed. Probably need a 10 foot cord. I am going to smoke under my canopy on the deck.

I've used a three-outlet ended cord similar to this, but in 16 guage and 13 amp, for dozens of cooks.  I am not sure you need 12 guage, but to each his own.  During most of those cooks, there was a fan plugged in to one of the other outlets on the same extension cord - with no problems.
