Title: Whole Packer in 2D
Post by: qmaster on November 13, 2023, 05:28:10 PM
What is the general census on fitting a whole packer brisket in a 2D size smoker?  Can I get a smaller sized brisket to fit, assuming a bit of trimming and maybe putting it in at an angle?  I don't want to have to cut my brisket into 2 pieces, but the 3D won't fit under my counter.
 Thanks.

Get some butchers twine and tie the flat up towards the point. Good luck.

I don't know about a general consensus, but I just fold up the brisket and let the ends touch the side of the smoker.  The result was good.  Mine is a 2 analog, but I suspect the box size is the same as the 2D.

Good luck.

Same size. I had suggested twine for ease of handling the folded brisket.

Yes, I get that.  Makes sense.

My point was only that you can stuff it in any which way you can and it will cook just fine.  Mine also shrunk up a bit as it cooked and actually "fit" in the box when I pulled it.
