3D just arrived- what are the black trim pieces?

Tom, the black angle-iron pieces are packing material.  If you got the pieces shown in John's (Smokin3D) picture, you threw away cord holders.

nope I have the cord holders with my 3d . just the black pieces got tossed. do they give these with the SI2? I don't remember getting them or throwing them away

Stainless steel cord holders.  Screws are attached to the back of the smoker.

Steve is including them with some models now, but I'm not sure which.  You're one of the lucky ones!  Dave got them with his 3D, but I didn't...go figure!
