How lucky that on the day I order my new Smokin-It #2 I have a guy from work offer to buy my Masterbuilt Analog which has been a good smoker but needs a little to much heat for my liking to make good smoke.  I ordered every accessory but the cord hanger, seafood rack (I use frognets for seafood) and the dehydrator.  I got the spring special so a free cover is included.  Pork butts beware!!

Congrats x2 and welcome to the club!  The #2 is a great unit; I know you'll like it!  Polish Q is right about the Auber PID - it makes a great smoker even better!

I plan on getting a PID but I was gonna see if the electricians at work can make me one.  We use PID loops and thermocouples everywhere.

Have them check specs on the Auber.  Two of the most important features on theirs is autotune and the 6 programmable steps, triggered by time or temp.  Not sure if all PIDs have those capabilities (just my lack of knowledge of other models).  They also have a permanently-mounted box temp probe available, which I have installed and am very impressed with.  It adds a level of constistency that I never had with the removable probe.  Just my 2ยข.

Smokin-It #3 (purchased in 2014) that replaced a Masterbuilt XL (ugh) and a 10+ Year-Old Big Chief (still used for fish), and few others over the years, along with variety of Weber Gas/Charcoal Grills, Anova Sous Vide, etc. devices.
