PK Grills

I started my 4th of July weekend off right. Earlier this week I entered a contest for a PK Grill give away sponsored by Southern Bancorp. They held the drawing this morning and I won! I have never seen one of these PK Grills before but they look pretty nice. I have used a Weber kettle grill for 25 years and it is finally starting to fall apart and is needing to be replaced, so this came at a great time. My question is this, Does anyone know anything about PK Grills or have any experience with one?

This post is not a debate over charcoal vs. gas or why some other type of grill is better. I have used a Weber Kettle grill for 25 years and I prefer charcoal over gas, so nothing you can tell me will change my mind.

Great post, Jimmy!  Lay down the rules, right up front, so the discussion doesn't go off the rails!  I'm not familiar with that grill, but am certainly going to look into it!  Hopefully, you'll hear from some actual PK owners!

That's a sweet charcoal grill!  I want one, and I'm not even a charcoal guy!  Here's why:

1.  It's not made of stamped steel.  'nuff said.

2.  Lifetime aluminum, will never rust out.

3.  Weight.  Portability is great, I especially like that it lifts out of its cart.  Much lighter and portable than a Kamado or Keg-style grill (correct me if I'm wrong on that, RG).

Compared to some of the kamados, it seems the price is good.  I would pay that, no problem.  If I was in the market for a charcoal grill, this would be my choice, I do believe.

I see City Lumber, in Fayetteville, carries them.  Gonna have to go by and check one out!  Cool story, about the company.  Seems I do remember these from the 60s & 70s, but had totally forgotten about them.

I haven't bought one but I have had it on my shopping list for a long time. I have had a few steel grills rust away. A Weber kettle was the longest lasting of them all.

Between my wife's Jeep, (Just Empty Every Pocket) and my new Polaris 1000 Touring there have been other necessary purchases and the PK will have to wait.

Last gun I bought for me was the .44 special I posted a while back. I did buy my son a Sig M400 .556 Pistol for college Graduation.

Gun buying will be slow for a bit, I just got a Polaris 1000 Touring.
