Soaking wood chunks
« on: March 22, 2021, 08:25:24 AM »
From what I understand, soaking wood in water before smoking simply adds an "evaporation" period at the beginning of a smoke. Has anyone tried soaking just some of their wood chunks to delay the onset of smoke? My thinking is that if I were using 2 blocks of wood, I could soak one in water and the result would be quick smoke from the dry one and delayed smoke from the wet one, thus creating smoke for a longer period of time?

I'm not sure why I care, I have no complaints about my cooks...
