Yes, I am fortunate in that I have 12 acres of wood of all types. Also have apple, cherry, and pear trees so am fortunate indeed. I always count my blessings because for so long I went without.
I added too much salt to my rub; used thick sliced bacon instead of thin so may have needed more time in the smoker; I plan on cutting down amount of wood to 1.5 oz. and will try again without the rub. I'm keeping a record of each smoke at the advice of others I've read on these forums.
