Anybody hang sausage in their smoker? I'm talking about chubs of bologna. How close to heating element can you get that it doesn't affect outcome or have to flip end for end.

I have a #3 and lay sausage down on the racks. Years ago in other smokers I would hang it. If you have a #4 there would be enough room, in anything smaller you will get a hot spot at the base of the sausage that will cook faster.
