WiFi Controller water resistance rating
« on: August 04, 2023, 10:25:55 PM »
Does anybody know what the IP rating (water resistance) for the wifi enabled controller is? I am going to try my first brisket this weekend and there is rain in the forecast. I will probably try to rig something to protect it, but my curiosity is getting the best of me. Loving my #3 and have done a Boston Butt, ribs and tried some pork chops with no complaints from the family so far.

The controllers are pretty robust.  But I understand your concern.  You can shoot Steve an email or give him a call. If you want to take a precaution, set a plastic container or small loaf pan over the controller.  Maybe just plastic foodwrap the controller?  Be advised that metal MIGHT interfere with the wifi signal if you use it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found a 5 qt ice cream bucket which fits quite nicely.
