Pretty cool!
I wish there was a remote thermometer that works with just a PC....I'm resisting getting a smart phone or tablet.

I bet there is a way to run the program on a PC with an emulator, I will look.

OK there is a program called Bluestacks that allows you to run Android apps on your PC or MAC. Just installed it and it works really well. I ran a bunch of my apps on there after syncing my account, pretty cool.

So it will run the Tappecue app okay?
I tried one of those emulators some time ago for something else and it didn't work out so well.

Also, I didn't mention it but you can see it on their site. The little cool thing about the probes from them is that they have a little silicon sleeve coming out of the end to give it a bit of extra protection from the elements.

That's awesome!
That's one thing I absolutely HATE about the Maverick remotes...the probes are a very serious weak spot and they'll fail at what seems like the most inopportune time!

The little rubber gasket on the Maverick probes does break down over time.  A little dab of high-temp silicone gasket sealer keeps them up and running.

OK super awesome news for me: They sent me the Beta version of the app that allows the charting of the temps. Sooooo cool now. I tested it with their smoke test that they were doing and it is really cool.
If you guys don't know, if someone that has this system wants to share the cook process they can allow you to watch what is going on. It is really cool now. Can't wait to see the changes over time. This unit is pretty much everything I have been looking for.

I have been in contact with them about a mod to maybe help integrate a PID controller into the operation. Hopefully something will come about. That would for me be the best thing ever, wifi temp display AND control over the smoker. I would be in tech bliss and wouldn't have to recreate the wheel.

I see the case is acrylic, is it heavy acrylic?
I wish the warranty was longer than 90 days.

it is a fairly heavy acrylic but still wouldn't leave in extreme conditions, not really sealed up tight

Yeah warranty of at least a year would be nice.

I was going to order, but I've changed my mind....I'm just not comfortable spending that much when the warranty is only 90 days.
A quality product should have at least a one year warranty.
I could understand if the probe warranty was only 90 days.
