Built a cart for SI 2
« on: March 20, 2015, 09:10:54 PM »
Me and my father order a couple SI smokers last weekend.  I ordered a SI 3 and he ordered a SI 2. They came in today (Friday).  I finished his cart and bolted it to top.  I think he is quite happy I talked him into upgrading from masterbuilt smokers.  I know I am.  Here is a couple pics of setup.   And they are built better than you will ever expect.   Build quality couldn't be better.

I wanted to put formica but at $52 dollars for a 4 x 8 sheet (nothing smaller) I opted for peal n stick tile. I am going to build a slide in shelf next week for it.  Cost right at $100 for everything.
If anybody is thinking about building a cart.   Be aware bolts to bolt smoker down are metric.

I am VERY new to woodworking, and am only doing it because the wife wants me to (plus I'm always happy to have an excuse to buy tools) - but this thread got me thinking I should build one too.  Depending on what my final creation looks like I might post pictures up too, don't want to get laughed off the forum.

Good job and enclosure will be very handy. I bought a SS commercial kitchen equipment stand on line for $99 w/Free shipping. Castors are added $$. Picture has my 1st SI smoker which was a Model #1 but it also holds the Model #2 .
