Title: Poor mans burnt ends.
Post by: Kutch98 on April 27, 2021, 11:45:11 PM
Made a poor mans burnt ends today.

Got decent cut of Chuck roast, prepped with mustard and rub.

Put it in the smoker at 225 and 7 hours later she was only 154.  Was supposed to get to 165 before wrapping but I grew impatient. Wrapped in tin foil and tossed it in the grill.  In about 30 ish minutes she went from 154 to 195.

At 195 pulled it out, cut it up, tossed on some brown sugar and added butter.  Put it back on the grill unwrapped in a tin foil container.  After 15 minutes I realized I forgot to add the BBQ sauce.  Used the Kinder Sugar Free. I don’t know if I would use it again.  That sugar free brands all have a weird aftertaste to me.

45 min later.  Amazing.  I made sampler plates for 3 neighbors and they all loved it.

Anybody else made these?  Thoughts?

I’ve done much the same with Kinder’s Mild BBQ and everyone liked it.
