Title: High Temp Wire
Post by: SuperDave on February 24, 2016, 01:53:34 PM
I thought that I would drop a tip on any wiring one might have to do in the back of their smoker.  I recently added a bypass switch for analog to Auber controls and thought that I would us the same high temp jacketed wire as is used in there now.  I went to an appliance repair/parts store to see if I could buy a couple feet of wire.  The store owner went in the back and came back with a box of loose odds an ends.  He threw a half dozen pieces of high temp wire about a foot or longer up on the counter and asked if any of those would work.  I grabbed a couple of pieces and said these would work and how much did I owe him?  He said I don't sell it but have lots of short pieces from doing part replacements.  So, if you want to do some wiring with the heat protected wire, check you local appliance repair and you might get some free wire.

Great tip, Dave!  I never thought of that.  Good one!
