Inexpensive Jerky Dryer
« on: May 18, 2014, 09:32:53 AM »
I made this jerky dryer out of a 4 inch ducted fan used for heating and cooling for 22 Dollars. Purchased from home depot along with the 4 inch cap. I used a hole saw to drill the hole in the cap to fit the size of the fitting on top of my #2 smoker. This set up also can be speed controlled if you need it. Just add a handy box with a variable speed ceiling fan controller( that you can buy at any home improvement store)  and that's all you need. I used this last night to make jerky and after 5.5 hours in the smoker, it turned out perfect.

Here is the jerky I made last night. I have quickly found out that I need to use less wood than what I used in my cast iron smoker for my gas grill. Just a little to much smoke taste for me. Looking forward to testy this baby out.
