Charcoal??
« on: February 08, 2014, 10:39:57 PM »
OK,  I have a dumb question for you guys,,,
When I clean my firebox out after a smoking the wood chunks I use look more like charcoal than ash,,,, Is this still usable wood can I fire it back up on the grill for charcoal ?? My old smoker used to turn the wood into ash, not this one,,,I know its a small thing,,   Just wondering, I have been throwing them away but thought I might start saving them if there any good ..
What do you guys get out of yours?.

They are charcoal at that point and perfectly usable. Most of my wood comes out as ash but occasionally is lump coal.

I agree times 2.  Use it 'til it's ash!  If it still smokes, it's still good.
