I use this rub on both beef and pork is pretty good...
2 tbl chili powder
2 tbl dark brown sugar, also can use light, what ever you have on hand.
1 tbl coarse salt
2 t black pepper
2 t garlic powder
2 t onion powder
1 t ground cumin
1/2 t cayenne pepper
1 tbl dried oregano

Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl.

Hey Steven,
You should really like Smithville. I will be in K.C. a few more years then plan on moving out of the city. Need more room for the garden.  :-[

I'm fairly familiar with it since I'll be moving to about 3 blocks from Paradise Pointe and in 'normal' (I know, there's no such thing in MO) weather years I'm up there at least once a week.

Everything's a trade off.  I'll lose my 15 minute trips to the grocery store (and I mean 15 mins from walking out my door to walking back in it) but lose the noise.  Have to get up a bit earlier, but get a peaceful commute (most of the way, at least).

Breaking in the digital Big Brother today, I seasoned it with hickory and apple wood yesterday. Ill be using your rub slightly modified  ;) not big on oregano. Also going to try 3 other store bought rubs. Doing back loin ribs 4 slabs.
