Hi from South Texas
« on: July 10, 2016, 12:40:18 AM »
Hi everyone. I am the proud new owner of the model 2. My cousin smoked a pork butt at his home for a big family dinner and I was impressed. He owns a SmokinTex 1400. I knew I wanted an electric smoker like his since he didn't have to babysit the smoking. That got me to start my investigation. I came upon the Smokin-it Model 2 on this forum and was hooked!  My smoker will arrive on Monday (the wait has been pure agony since ordering it on Tuesday). I've just been smoking on my gas grill using a smoker box. I've gotten decent results but my grill just won't stay cool enough so I'm constantly outside trying to regulate the temp.  I am excited to start using the model 2. I've got big plans for us two!

I'll be sure to frequent this forum and look for new tips and recipes. I'll try to add my 2c in as well when I have some smokes under my belt too.

Cheers y'all.
