Auber PID Tips and Tricks / Auber and other smokers

There are blowers designed to be used on Big Green Eggs and on Weber kettles to adjust temperature

Could an Auber 1520 PID Controller be used on these devices (that are not similar to the Smokin it)

Thanks

You can tuck the flat under the point, maybe use a skewer to hold. You may still need to place it at an angle.

Seems like just yesterday Steve was giving me advice on which one to get.  It?s been rolling since 2013.  Just added a PID.  I?ve cheated on her a few times, well more than a few - chasing that perfect smoke ring, but she continues to put out some great BBQ, over a decade later, with minimal effort and a wood chunk or two.

Smoke on!

Hope you smoked this by now - I?ve gone at an angle and place a small stainless mixing bowl under the brisket to get that extra room.  Learned that from Harry Soo for my WSM.  Works great in the #2.  By the time you wrap, you can remove the bowl if the brisket did not already slide off.

PS - wife may not respond well to use of mixing bowl.

Sooner or later you will get it just right. There might be a big learning curve.

Auber Instructions / Auto tune clarification
« Last post by travis on February 04, 2024, 07:53:42 PM »
I have read the smokin-it auber auto tune instructions and have some questions regarding the t settings.
T01-0.5
T02-2
T03-1

Does the 0.5 time mean 30sec or 30min
Does the 2 time mean 2min or 2hrs
Does the 1 time mean 1min or 1hr

If the inputs are based on minutes shouldn't it be
T01-30
T02-120
T03-60

Thanks
