Where probes enter smoker

Do the probes go thru hole in top where smoke comes out , or thru hole with cap.on it on left side near bottom?

I have an older model that only has the exhaust vent on top to put probe cables through.
I think the hole on the left side of yours (if it is a new one) is for a smoke generator.

I think you could use that if your probes are long enough. I would watch your temp in case you get enough airflow through that hole to let the wood burn instead of smolder.

Traditionally right through the top smoke hole...

Thanks guys. Makes sense bottom hole is for smoke generator. Now if i coulf figure out this digital controller I will be set!

I keep the instructions handy. I have two settings. Smoker temp and internal temp. Being simple minded, I keep things simple. No other programming at all. Geek is not in my DNA.
