Newcomer from Ontario
« on: April 14, 2021, 01:17:36 PM »
Time to connect with the Smokin-It forum community.  I'm still considering my options and the 2-D Wifi will likely be my choice of smoker.  Main focus is smoking sausages but there's a lot of variety as evidenced on this list!

Welcome, Dennis!  The frequent mantra around here is buy once, cry once.  :)  I could have gotten by with the #2 for forever (which I owned for a while), but I really do enjoy the extra space of the 3DW.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!  I've been busy @ work so haven't had time to respond before now.  (Glad to BE working . . . )

The 2-D Wifi model is backordered for several weeks and a 3-D is tempting.  I know this has been covered before in the forum [exhaustively  8) } but I value the opinions here!!   TIA!

I have a 3DW, and it is great to have the additional space. For me the biggest pro is that I can smoke full slabs of ribs and whole packer briskets without folding over or cutting down their size. Whichever smoker you choose you can’t go wrong with Smokin-It.

Going with the collective wisdom . . . 3D-WiFi on the way.  Thanks for all the feedback, folks.  Undoubtedly, I won't regret the extra 7" interior depth of the #3.   8)

Excellent choice! I have their 3D, love the size and flexibility it provides with cooks. You will enjoy it!

Have fun with that first cook!

Welcome from Oklahoma.

Model 3 analog here.  I too struggled with which model to buy.  When it came right down to it I knew I would never catch myself saying "I wish I would have bought a smaller smoker".  I wanted to have plenty of room so I decided to buy once, cry once, and ended up with the Model 3.  The digital and WiFi versions weren't available back then so I didn't have to struggle with getting those features or not.

3D WiFi arrived today.  In a word, {{ awesome }} !  Extremely well engineered, quality product exemplarily packaged for shipment.

Tech tip for those who follow:  When installing the castors, bolts should be inserted upward toward the unit, not downward toward floor . . . otherwise they interfere with rotation of castors .  . . !   8). Still chuckling over that repeat effort !

Highly recommend the product on basis of aforementioned build quality, design and delivery.  Undoubtedly this smoker will be a joy to operate for years to come.
