At end 2 temps do show up.  Instructions share temp and time are to display after C6.  So a bit confused

Yes, that is correct.  Mine will generally overshoot the temp by a few degrees, but will settle in and hold within a degree either way.

When you punch all the way through C6, you roll back to C1.  Left side window will display box temperature.  Right side window would show meat temp or time depending on whether you set that particular program up for temp or time.

Press the time button once and red light will go off. Green should continue to flash

1st smoke with 3D Sunday  7lb Boston butt. Thought I'd seen somewhere a list of wood amounts for different smokes but cannot locate it.  May not have been on this forum though.  Any help?

Try this, Jeff:

Guide to Smoking Times, Temperatures and Woods

6-7 oz for a Boston butt.  I like hickory and/or cherry on pulled pork!

Hickory is what I grew up on, and always my "go to/fall back" choice of wood!

1st smoke with 3D just underway.  Programmed it per instructions included in packet with the smoker.  How can I check the temps without ruining the program?   Also assume time 1 is smoker temp and time 2 is meat? Thanks for the info.

That's right - left window is box temp, right window is meat temp.  Good luck!

Thanks.  Looks like what I was missing to do was hit time button at end which displays both temps.  Was only seeing the #1 temp. Hope it tastes as good as its smelling.
