Ben,

This is off to a fine start.  I think folks will start to chime in as time goes on and maybe post pictures of their set up and the food they are producing.

I've owned the #1 for about 9 months now, and it performs flawlessly. Looking forward to many years to come. With Steve's customer service, and the quality of the smoker, I would recommend Smokin-It very highly.

I am thankful to Sarge for letting me know about the forum here  ;D THANKS SARGE!! ;D :)
I love my Smokin-it #3 and also bought a #2 for my Aunt in memory of my Mother. They are great !!!   The machine is so well made . The first thing I noticed was the nice smooth finished details and quality workmanship..   I love the sloped to the center floor drain, the drip catcher under the door and the stainless drip pan.I also like the simple controls that do a top job. The insulated cabinet and door and heavy duty shelves are also a favorite ... what is there not to like!!    The flavor just gets better and better as I experiment with different woods ( homemade lump charcoal vs  wood  etc)  . I  am going to have to put this machine in my will because barring a calamity, it will be here for the long haul.  bordercollie

Edit:  I put this in the wrong category so moved it here ;) thanks, judy

Hello bordercollie,

Glad you made the trip over!  So you bought one for your aunt? Bring her on over! The more the merrier!  Have her join in as well.  Enjoy and good smoking!

I've had my #2 for about 3 months. I can't even tell you how much meat has been thru it already. Not a single thing was bad! Love it!!

Hey, everybody.  Proud owner of a model #1 for over a year and a half.  I've smoked all kinds of things, and with the exception of an unfortunate meatloaf recipe I tried on a whim, everything has come out perfect.  I've even done things like cheddar cheese and smoked almonds!

I'm posting a few recipes over in the appropriate forum pages.  Check 'em out and let me know what you think!

Cheers!

Great forum for the Smokin-It.  I just received my #1 w/cart on Thur, and I am going crazy caus it's still sitting in my living room just waiting to be fired up.  The rain is supposed to subside by mid morning so hopefully I can at least get it seasoned.  Looking forward to many years of Smokin goodness!
