Stainless hardware
« on: June 24, 2019, 01:16:35 PM »
After about a year of use the moisture leaking out of the front of the unit and down the legs has caused the hardware to become corroded so I figured I should replace all of it with SS. Good thing I did it now since a couple of the bolts were seized so bad I snapped them off and a couple heads almost didn't grab with the socket. After swapping the bolts and nuts with SS then a spray of WD40 and steel wool they are all cleaned up. I think on a unit designed to be corrosion resistance with so much SS elsewhere that hardware should be a given.

Good to know, my unit is relatively new and I think I will hit that front hardware with a blast of WD 40 occasionally as a preventative.  With all the quality materials elsewhere, seems like a poor area get skimpy.
