Brisket Cheesesteak
« on: August 19, 2015, 08:12:18 AM »
I have been eating away on a brisket that I smoked last week, primarily brisket sammies.   Got a bit bored with that approach, and then found a post from RG in the "What's Cooking" forum on brisket cheesesteaks.  I tried this last night and WOW!  what a great cheesesteak!   Planning to do another one today...

I just sautéed some onions/peppers/garlic, then cut up the brisket into small chunks, then covered with mozzarella cheese, and into the oven at 350F until the cheese melted.   The roll came out nice and crisp, and folded perfectly.   Give it a try...quite delicious!

Sounds really good thanks for sharing. And the vegies you just warmed and they still had some crunch to them right.

Yes, Bill...I kept the onion/peppers somewhat undercooked to get the crunch.   On the second cheesesteak that I had for lunch yesterday, I went with just plain onion (not sautéed) and that was good as well.

Steve, great idea! I'm going to have to give that a try on my next brisket smoke.

Steve, that really looks good.

I have some brisket leftover and I plan to use on my next BBQ Pizza!
