Title: Christmas Present - very fine wood chips - can they be used in my SI#2?
Post by: RalphM on February 02, 2017, 09:40:50 AM
At Christmas, I received a smoker cookbook and 6 cans of fine chips (about 1/16 inch).  Is there any way to use this in my #2 or should they become mulch?

Thanks

+1 line the bottom of your wood box with foil and it should work fine.

+1 Use them wrapped in foil (perforated on the top) for low temp smokes where it is hard to get a chunk of wood to keep smoking after the desired smoking temp has been reached.

Or you could buy an A-MAZE-N smoker (https://www.amazon.com/A-MAZE-N-AMNPS5X8-Pellet-Smoker/dp/B007ROPJ1M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486066621&sr=8-1&keywords=a-maze-n+smoker) which is great for cold and hot smoking.
