1st butt on my new #3
« on: July 03, 2015, 03:10:43 PM »
1st smoke was prime brisket, 2nd was 8 lbs chicken thighs, 2 rack St Louis ribs and 1 rack spare ribs... now.....the butt -
10.2 lb butt
Tony's brine tonite - added 2 bay leaves and 1 thinly sliced lemon and brought to a boil, iced and chilling now.
Tomorrow, Dave's pork injection subbed Tony Chacheres for rub and MSG for 1/4 of the salt(big believer in the "5th taste" - umami)
Then on the #3 w/ Gulden's spicy mustard plus texasbbq.com Championship Rub, 225 ti IT 195, wrap & rest, and Sunday pool party!

I also use bay leaves in my brine.  Simmer long enough in advance so that they can really steep into the brine.

George, when you import the pics to your computer, try opening them in MS Paint, or another photo editor.  You may find they import rotated, based on your phone setting.  Your phone will auto-rotate, if turned on.

George, your pictures are posting sideways because you are posting them directly from your phone.  Mine will do the same thing.  If I host the pictures before posting they come out right side up.

I take the pic, email it to myself, then on the PC I download it from my gmail account. Then I post it choosing the jpg file under downloads in Chrome, which opens in the correct orientation both on my phone and on my PC, only after posting is it rotated left 90 deg.
