Title: Hello from central AZ!
Post by: ShoddyBBQ on January 08, 2021, 11:32:10 PM
Hey everyone! Getting ready to purchase a #3 or a 3D.  I am so excited to join this community of electric BBQ!

I have smoked things for years but only every six months or so because I only have a little propane smoker and don't usually have the time to monitor a chipbox and temps. I can't wait to have a smoker large enough to smoke a packer brisket! (even if I have to chop it a bit to fit ;)

Forgot to mention my name is Alex! (Just read the intro rule) Sorry if I break any rules, please let me know if I do Mods. As dumb as this may sound, this is the first forum of any sort that I have ever actually signed up for and posted on so it's new to me. Thanks for popping my forum cherry SI! haha

Welcome Alex from SE Arizona.  No rules broken; post whatever information you are comfortable with. The #3 is a great choice. And you don't have to cut the packer to fit! I use the Prime whole packers from Costco.

Welcome Alex, from SW Missouri. You are making a great choice with the SI 3.
I have a 3DW and like David said, it is plenty big to do a whole packer brisket without cutting it in half. Also whole slabs of ribs fit with room to spare. Whichever #3 you choose, you can’t go wrong.

Welcome from the land of Enchantment!

I have the 3D - love it! Love the use and the ability to go with some higher temps than the 3. But whatever you get, enjoy it!
