« on: February 04, 2018, 01:18:08 PM »
Hi,
Adding this to a 50lb Sausagemaker smoker do I need to put a fan with it to control temp or will the Auber by itself do the job.
Thanks Kelly

Hi Kelly, and welcome!  I'm not familiar with your smoker, but if it burns charcoal or wood as the fuel, yes, you will need fans.  BUT, the Auber units do not have fan controllers.  If you didn't notice, Smokin-It smokers are electric, so PID controllers (like Auber) work by turning the heating element on and off...they are not designed to work with fired smokers.  Now, if you want some more info on the best smokers on the market, you've come to the right place!! ;)

Since it's electric, no fans needed.  Like the SIs, you will plug your smoker into the Auber, put the probes in, and set your smoker controller to full on high.  After that, the PID will regulate the temp.  Works great!  You can autotune, also.

Kelly, here's the 1501 manual.  Once you unlock the section with the P, I an D settings in it, you can write them down.  This manual will help you a lot.
