First Try at Wings
« on: October 19, 2019, 08:45:54 AM »
My GF and I did some drumettes in my #1 yesterday, and they were amazing!  Probably the best wings I’ve ever had.

She marinated them in a zip lock bag with:
New Glarus Beer
Olive oil
Louisiana Cajun seasoning
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Cayenne
Black pepper
And a dash of liquid smoke

They marinated all day.

I fired up the smoker (2oz hickory) and let it heat up until it just started to smoke.  Then I put the wings in on a couple of mesh trays.  I pulled them out after a little over an hour and took them inside.

We sprayed them with a little olive oil, and then seasoned them with a little more Cajun seasoning and a little cayenne.  After that, it was into a 450 degree oven.  When they were crisp, we took them out and devoured them all.

They look amazing!  My mouth was watering looking at the pics and reading the steps with ingredients.  I'm sure those were awesome.

Thanks to everyone...they were spectacular.  I inadvertently omitted smoked paprika from the list of stuff....

Will615:  Just about exactly an hour.
