Paella on my new $30 kettle grill
« on: November 12, 2017, 04:17:56 PM »
So last night, I cooked up one of my favorite meals - Paella. But this time, I did it on a charcoal and wood flame. It was so good! Reading about paella, it’s traditionally done on an open flame pit. Well, I wasnt quite ready to build my fire pit in the backyard so I picked up this $30 kettle grill. Minus the few times I’ve smoked on my Coleman charcoal smoker, I have never used a grill like this. It was fun cooking for my friends and family while sitting next to the chiminea last night. This paella had that great smokey flavor, but wasn’t overwhelmed with it. It was a great experience, and I’m excited to use this $30 gem again!

Kettle grills are very versatile.  I started my smoking 4 odd years ago on a weber.  Did a turkey.  Fantastic.  There is a device available called the smokenator, built for webers but should fit any kettle style grill.
